Definitions
Selfprotection is the action and measures systems to prevent and control the risks over persons and goods, and give an appropriate reaction to emergency situations and to guarantee the integration of these actions with the public Civil Protection. (art.1.2 - R.D.393/2007)
This Selfprotection Plan can be applied to a shop, a building or a group of buildings.
It's important to emphasizes that a Selfprotection project can always be perform even when does not accomplish with the CTE (Technical Building Code), since its main function is to save lives of the users through their organization and coordination with existing resources.
The Selfprotection Plan shall be a constant updated document to adapt all changes through three main action guide:
- Evaluation of Risks situations
- Make an inventory of the existence resources
- Establish the route action to be taken

Documental Content
It's defined on the Selfprotection Basic Regulation on its Annex II - R.D.393/2007, and together with this guide will be add all needed supplementary annex.
Therefore we have 9 chapters and several Annex on where to complement these first:
- Owners and site identification
- Detailed description of the activity and its environment
- Risks inventory, analysis and evaluation
- Inventory and description of selfprotection measures and resources
- Installation maintenance program
- Emergency Plan
- Selfprotection Plan integration in higher level Plans
- Selfprotection Plan implementation
- Effectiveness maintenance and Selfprotection Plan upgrade
It will also include an Architecture Technical Report with the expert opinion about the building condition together with recommended actions to improve.
The projects will be signed by an Architect and a Private Security Director.

Examples where they are needed
The Selfprotection Plan is compulsory in all activities name on the Annex I - R.D.393/2007
On them we have all the buildings with an evacuation higher than 28m (9 floor story buildings including residential), or those with an person capacity higher than 1999 persons.
On any case is always recommended to have a Selfprotection Plan to guarantee the prevention and correct measures to avoid bigger problems.
