Definitions

The Bioclimatic report take into account the shape constraints and the area climate, to establish the strategies for energy efficiency that would allow us to simultaneously achieve the optimum comfort along with significant savings in spending raw materials (water, fuel ,...).

The Sustainable report focus on environmental, economic and social development impact throughout the complete building life (until its demolition and recycling), establish the strategies needed to reduce that impact without reducing the degree of satisfaction and comfort.

Documental Content

The size and composition of each document will depend on it's particular.
The basic structure would be:

The bioclimatic report would develop into four parts:

  • Index
  • Background
  • Climate and shape Analysis
Building Interaction with exterior conditions that affects to comfort and performance, focusing on Solar, acoustic, thermal, ventilation and air flow factors.
  • Bioclimatic Strategies
Optimising the building performance and efficiency with comparison between actual and future building states.

The sustainability report would develop into seven parts:

  • Index
  • Background
  • Climate and shape Analysis
Building Interaction with exterior conditions that affects to comfort and performance, focusing on Solar, acoustic, thermal, ventilation and air flow factors.
  • Analysis of the social and cultural environment
    W
ith a particular emphasis on buildings and architectural styles, interaction between the public and private sphere and other factors that may affect performance.
  • Economic Analysis
Such as the cost of materials and their availability in the area, workforce available and whether is local or not, ...
  • Environment Analysis
Focus on Natural systems on the area and how we could interact through conservation or recreation of compatible systems that may improve that environment.
  • Bioclimatic Strategies
Optimising the building performance and efficiency with comparison between actual and future building states.

Examples where they are needed

The Climate Change together with the scarcity of resources has become an undeniable reality that we should take into account to avoid, as far as possible, the effects that are taking place on climate, social and economic levels.

Therefore is important when undertaking any action that requires the use of resources (energy, water, land ,...) as in construction, create a Prior Sustainable or at least Bioclimatic Report. This will allow, not only improve the conditions of the environment, but save money and improve life quality.
