Health & Safety

As referred to in RD1627/97, from Oct. 24, Minimum Health and Safety regulation at construction sites are:

• Safety and Health Study (ESS) or Safety and Health Basic Study (EBSS): Is the document, as part of the Implementation Plan in consistency within it, takes preventive measures appropriate to the risks involved in the work and serves as the basis for the Safety and Health Plan PSS (Health and Safety Plan to be prepared by the contractor before the start of the works).
• Health and Safety Plan (PSS)
• Approval of the Health and Safety Plan or Issuance of a Favorable Report (in the case of works for the Administration) APSS
• Coordination on Safety and Health during the execution of the works (CSS works).

In small works such as single family houses, the EBSS or ESS, APSS and CSS is usually done by the same studio that makes the architecture project, something that doesn't happen in larger projects. On any case, doesn't matter the size, it's recommended to contract a different Safety and Health team but, this option, is always more expensive.
