Geotechnical Study

The geotechnical study in all building constructions, in Spain, are mandatory and necessary to perform.
The tasks comprising the geotechnical study, on most projects, are summarized in three key sections:
- Prospecting surveys by the use of mechanical or geophysical methods (among others).
- The materials characterization are the tests of the ground, either on site or on samples taken (laboratory tests).
- The technical report which outlines the data collected in order to help on the structural design and calculation of the foundations and general structure.
Therefore is very important that the staff conducting the Geotechnical study know the requirements and guidelines of the future project to optimize their work. So it's highly recommended that both, architecture and geotechnical offices get in contact.
This phase has to be acomplish before the start of the Implementation Plan (Proyecto de Ejecución).
